Oprah: No Palin Plans

After the Drudge Report posted a story this morning suggesting that Oprah Winfrey was blocking an appearance by Republican vice presidential campaigner Sarah Palin on her show because of her support for Democrat Barack Obama, the daytime prima donna issued a statement to TMZ denying the rumors.

"The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue," Oprah says. "There has been absolutely no treatment about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the root of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for whatever of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a marvelous interview, and I would love to have her on after the military campaign is over."

The item on the Drudge Report, which has also posted Oprah's program line, had quoted a generator saying: "Half of her staff real wants Sarah Palin on. Oprah's web site is getting tons of requests to put her on, simply Oprah and a couple of her top citizenry are adamantly against it because of Obama."
